The cost of the program is $55.00 which covers a weekend session at Rancho Alegre (on San Marcos Pass Road between Santa Barbara and Solvang, and two one day sessions (in Simi Valley and Goleta). The sessions are approximately one month apart. Your $55 fee covers the cost of the Religious Emblem medal, one night's lodging at Rancho Alegre, an afternoon session of rifle shooting, your food for all four days, and some handouts. If you come up Friday evening we ask an additional $10 payment to cover the cost we pay to the Los Padres Council for use of the dormitory and breakfast. Otherwise we will start Saturday morning at 9:00 am sharp. We expect to leave camp at 3:30 on Sunday. We will fulfill our Sunday obligation for Mass on the weekend as part of our group. We ask that each participant purchase the Pope Pius XII Handbook from your local Scout Office so that you can review the material prior to our first gathering.

Directions

For those coming from the Los Angeles or Ventura areas, take Highway 101 north through Santa Barbara to the State Street off-ramp. Follow the signage for San Marcos Pass Road / Lake Cachuma by crossing State Street at the exit. The road will curve and parallel the freeway for about two blocks. When you reach San Marcos Pass Road (Highway 154), turn right. You will go approximately 17 miles up the mountain highway. Watch the mile markers and roadside telephone markers. When you reach the roadside telephone at 16.3 miles, you need to turn left at that point into the camp. For safety, you should pull off to the right and once the road is clear make the left turn. Follow the road for 7/10th of a mile into the camp. There will be signage directing you to the Dining Hall. For last minute directions, call Dcn. Wayne Rascati at (805) 452-7828.
