Catholic Scout Retreat XVII - 2008
Our annual Scout Retreat is planned for Friday evening,
September 26, 2008 through Sunday morning,
September 28, 2008 and will again be held at
Veterans Memorial County Park in Sylmar.
This year's retreat will feature:

Saint George Trek - Philmont 2009

The Catholic Committee on Scouting of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
through its affiliation with the
National Catholic Committee on Scouting (external link)
is pleased to announce a high adventure leadership program for older
Catholic Boy Scouts and Venture Crew members at Philmont Scout Ranch in
northeastern New Mexico from July 21, 2009 thru August 5, 2009.
The Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is making available two partial scholarships to the Saint George Trek for qualified Scouts and Venturers. The scholarships provide payment of the seven hundred fifty dollar ($750.00) national program fee. Transportation and incidental expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

Chi Rho Recognition
The Catholic Committee on Scouting Archdiocese of Los Angeles (CCSALA) has designed and produced a new "Chi Rho" patch to recognize those scouts who complete all four Catholic religious emblem programs – Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei, and Pope Pius XII.
The patch can be obtained for a cost $5.00, which includes shipping, by sending in the completed order form.

is a member of the
National Catholic Committee on Scouting (external link)

The CCSALA is a committee of Scouters and clergy who see the program of the Boy Scouts of America as a viable form of youth ministry with the Catholic youth of our nation. The CCSALA's main goal is the promotion of the Religious Emblems program for Catholic youth.
The local committee provides input to the national committee and participates in some of the national programs. The National Catholic Committee on Scouting is an advisory to the Boy Scouts of America and seeks to sustain and strengthen the relationship between BSA and the Catholic Church in the United States.
